I’ve spent many years in frontend engineering and user experience, and one problem I’ve seen repeatedly is frontend development getting blocked by the backend or some other dependencies. The API isn’t ready / The API isn’t working. Need to reproduce a very specific edge case. Test a timeout/delay, or an API migration, a different device, or see how your application behaves across SSR and CSR. And sometimes you just need to test the same scenario on Web, WebView, Android, and iOS without building a completely different setup for each. That’s what inspired me to build MockForMe. The initial idea was simple: give developers a way to simulate APIs instantly, with zero to minimal integration, and keep working without depending on the backend and ensure the fact that interaction with MockForMe DevTool easier. But the product evolved quite a bit while building it. We started with a simple solution and then spent a lot of time watching how developers actually used it, where they got stuck, and what made the experience feel complicated. That led us to build a more developer-friendly DevTool and improve the entire integration experience — while expanding beyond basic API responses into offline simulation, flows, network validation, device simulation, API migrations, SSR/CSR scenarios, and Android & iOS. The goal has remained the same: Remove the integration hassle and give developers more control over how their application behaves.
