MLightCAD CAD Viewer brings DWG/DXF viewing and editing directly to the browser. It parses and renders CAD files client-side—no upload, backend, or installation required. Open source and built for developers, it offers a rich SDK, measurement and markup tools, offline support, large-drawing performance, and export to self-contained HTML files. Embed it into your own web applications or build custom CAD workflows on top of it.

I've spent many years building CAD software, and one question kept coming back: why does viewing a DWG still require a heavyweight desktop application or uploading the file to a server? We started MLightCAD CAD Viewer to explore a different approach: make CAD truly native to the web. DWG/DXF parsing, data processing, rendering, measurement, markup, and editing can all happen directly in the browser. What started as a viewer has evolved into an open-source CAD engine and SDK for building web-based CAD applications. Along the way, we added offline support, self-contained HTML export, mobile support, and data source plugins. We're excited to see what others build with it. Feedback, ideas, and use cases are very welcome!
