Mini Walkie Talkie is a private push-to-talk app that works online or offline. Add people by QR code, press and hold to talk, and the app picks the best route for every voice message: nearby Bluetooth/Wi-Fi when close, direct WebRTC over the internet, or Pro encrypted relay fallback for background receiving. Audio is end-to-end encrypted with session keys, HKDF-SHA256, ChaChaPoly, and replay protection.

Hey Product Hunt 👋
I think Mini Walkie Talkie is special because it isn’t just “voice chat with a push-to-talk button.” The core idea is route-aware private voice: when you press and hold, the app tries the best path it can find — nearby Bluetooth/Wi-Fi when you’re close, WebRTC direct when both sides are online, and an encrypted relay fallback for Pro background receiving when direct routes aren’t available.
One idea that pushed me to build this came from travel. Sometimes I’m on a plane with friends, but we’re not sitting next to each other. If onboard Wi-Fi is available, or nearby Bluetooth/Wi-Fi is allowed and usable, I want a simple way to press and talk privately without relying on normal phone signal or turning it into a noisy group chat.
You add trusted contacts by scanning QR codes, there are no public channels, and audio is encrypted before it leaves your device.
I built it for friends, families, small teams, and trusted contacts who want fast private voice from the same room to across the internet.
Would love feedback: where would you use a private walkie-talkie like this?
