Minds is an open source social platform built for free speech, privacy, community governance, and token rewards. Share content, engage with community, earn crypto, and take control of your social media experience—all in one transparent, decentralized network.

Minds is what social media should be — open, user-centric, and designed around freedom + privacy. The fact that it’s open source, gives users control, and rewards engagement sets it apart from the usual platforms. In a time when many feel locked out by big tech, Minds offers a real alternative.
One thing I admire about Minds is the token reward system: users earn crypto for posting, engagement, etc. That flips the model from “platform profits from you” to “you benefit from platform participation.” Combine that with strong privacy and decentralized design, and you have a uniquely aligned social engine.
Switching between social apps always feels like fighting algorithms. On Minds, I feel like I actually own my content. The transparency around algorithms, the ability to boost my own posts with my own tokens — it gives a sense of agency. Definitely going to try posting there.
From a UX viewpoint, Minds faces interesting challenges: balancing complexity (crypto, boosting, tokens) with simplicity for new users. The onboarding, wallet management, feed control, and content boosting must feel intuitive. If they can get that right, this platform could attract many who are currently intimidated by blockchain.
Kudos to the Minds team for pushing open social tech further. Building a platform that privileges free speech, privacy, transparency, and community governance is no easy task. I hope users see it as not just “another network” but as a space that respects them and their data.
Open source. Crypto rewards. Privacy first. It’s rare to see a social app that keeps the core values so visible. If the performance and community stay strong, I see this becoming a hub for meaningful connections.
