MicroFocus

MicroFocus

The anti-productivity app that removes features

Got tired of productivity apps with 47 features you never use? MicroFocus goes the opposite direction - we REMOVE features instead of adding them. Just: Open app → Press start → Focus 25min. No accounts, no setup, no bloat.

Hey Product Hunt! 👋 While everyone builds the next "super app," I built the opposite. Got frustrated with Forest's virtual trees, Focus Keeper's 12 timer modes, and Be Focused's cloud sync. So I asked: what if we REMOVED features instead of adding them? MicroFocus = Timer + Start button. That's it. No gamification, no social features, no setup friction. Just pure focus. Early feedback from r/productivity (2.3k views!) shows people are craving simplicity over complexity. Philosophy: Focus on HOW you work, not HOW MUCH you track. Would love your honest feedback on this "less is more" approach! Try it: it's that simple.

This is truely refreshing! I'm so tired of productivity apps trying to do EVERYTHING. The "just timer + start button" approach is kinda genius imo — I need less bells and whistles, more actual focus time. So simple, yet so effective! Could you tell me more about how it handles different types of work sessions? (like, switching between writing and coding, etc)
