Merge is the to-do list app for couples living together. Seamlessly coordinate, manage, and collaborate on everyday household tasks over your very own private network.
@tristancelebi it's a very fair and valid point you make, and I appreciate your feedback. You can actually use Merge entirely for free for as long as you want without paying a thing. The only difference is there is a cleanly integrated and unobtrusive native banner ad that sits at the top of the screen. It's completely out of the way, and there's no annoying interstitial ads or anything like that. Thanks again!
@rueter I rather use the app straight away as free. And get a pop up here and there sometimes for better plans. Without seeing the button for subscription on the sign up...
@tristancelebi thank you, this is a great piece of feedback. I have no objections to re-configuring the onboarding like this. After all, most couples will opt for the free tier anyway, so it may as well be the default. I'll have to think of a way to "remind" people of premium without being annoying about it. Really great feedback, thank you.
@rueter Yeah you are right. Don't worry about the pop up, you will figure it out like the AD that doesn't disturb to much. As long every Plan you offer, offers customer value. For example like: getting AD out of your way. You will be fine. Your goal is to prove anyway, that people are interested for that kind of product. How they will earn you money, is a different story.
@tristancelebi@rueter We have done this with our other apps Steven it should be based on intelligent data. Every users usecase and needs aren't the same given as people we all have variating interests, dislikes and personalities. So you can segment based on what data your gathering dynamically. Also what Ozgur is referring to is a pretty big red flag as ( I'm not sure you're tracking this ) but if not you should, your retention and churn tied to this over time because it might not seem like a big deal but this could be what hammers your retention and conversion right now + 30-90 day churn. So you'd want to track and look at the data here, also the key point is either charge upfront ) premium application ) people have been buying forward for decades, or charge based on conditions really showing everyone the same message in 2017 with self-driving cars being a thing makes no sense. Only people who should see a message should see that message, period that's what your users want, that's their basic expectation and it's a law. Law of design. New users need to get a certain level of a lot in order to onboard otherwise you're favoring really high churn and low retention over metrics like one day subscription revenue ( which might result in refunds at 20% ) over what actually will help this be a viable long term product.
@ziv_ru thanks for your comment! I appreciate the support. I am working to prove viability/improve the current form, and once I think I've gotten to the kernel of the idea, I'll complete Merge for Android. I'm in the camp that believes that apps should be built platform-specific and native. It's a bit extra work, but I think it's what users have come to expect--especially with so many options out there. I hope to post Merge for Android on PH once the time comes, likely in the near future.
