Hey Product Hunt!
I run a couple of small Shopify stores myself, and the thing that always killed me was video ads. Everyone tells you short-form video converts better than static images, but actually making one, script, avatar or filming, captions, right aspect ratio for each platform, takes real time or a real budget. Most merchants just skip it.
MerchReel automates the whole pipeline. Pick a product from your catalog, it writes the script from your actual product data, generates an avatar-presenter video, cuts in your own product photos as b-roll, burns in captions, and outputs 9:16 for Reels/TikTok, square for feed posts, and landscape for your product page, all from one click. No filming, no editing software.
Built it solo, PHP and MySQL under the hood, HeyGen for the avatar rendering. Still early, so genuinely want to hear what's missing or what would make this useless for your store. Happy to answer anything about how it works.

💎 Pixel perfection
Honestly the script generation was way better than I expected, it actually pulled from my product descriptions and didn't sound generic. The one-click bulk option is a nice touch for anyone with a huge catalog.

@bekir39345 Thanks, that means a lot. The script quality was actually the part we iterated on the most, early versions kept reading generic no matter what we fed the prompt, so a good chunk of build time went into getting it to actually pull the specific product details instead of falling back to boilerplate copy. Glad the bulk option is landing too, that one's built for exactly the catalog-size problem you're describing. What's your catalog size like, and did you run it on a whole collection or handpicked products?

Honestly the bulk catalog feature is a lifesaver, I generated videos for like 40 products in one sitting and the script quality was way better than I expected from just product data.

@pnar1050939 That's great to hear, 40 in one sitting is honestly the exact use case bulk-generate was built for. Curious what vertical you're in and whether the script tone needed any edits before you posted it, or was it close to ready to publish as-is?

the b-roll cuts from your own product photos are a really smart touch, makes the whole thing feel way more legit than those generic ai avatar videos. nice execution

@rfan1447533 Appreciate that. That was actually the whole point of building it around your own product photos instead of stock b-roll, the generic AI-avatar-plus-random-clip videos are exactly what we were trying not to look like. Glad it's landing as more legit rather than more AI-generated. Curious which product you tried it on first?
