Take a photo of a menu in Mexico or Spain, slide the frame over a dish, and read it in English with the price in USD next to the pesos or euros. Works offline, keeps a running total of your order, and collects no data. French and Italian too.

Hi Product Hunt 👋
I’m Nikita, and I built Menu Translator to English for one moment: you’re sitting in a taquería in Mexico City or a tapas bar in Madrid, the menu has no English, and you’re not sure what you’re ordering or what it costs in dollars.
How it works: take a photo of the menu, move the frame over a dish, and you get the English translation with the price converted to USD, like “$7.85 (145 MXN)”. Tap to add it to your order and you get a running total in dollars.
A few things I cared about:
Offline. Text recognition and translation run on your iPhone with Apple’s on-device Translation. Download a language once and it works without roaming. Exchange rates update when you’re online and the last ones are kept for offline.
Private. No account, no tracking, no data collected. Orders stay on your phone.
Tiny. The app is about 1 MB.
Open source under MIT, so you can see exactly what it does.
It’s built for Spanish menus and pesos first, and French and Italian menus work too. It needs iOS 26.
It’s only on the US App Store for now, because it’s built for American travelers and shows prices in dollars. If you’d want it in your country and currency, tell me which one. That’s what decides where it goes next.
I’d love to hear which menu language you’d want next, and if you try it on a real menu, how it handled it.
Thanks for checking it out!
