I built MemeProof because something always bothered me about the internet. Memes and viral images spread everywhere, but the people who actually create them rarely get credit. I run a meme page on Instagram with over 100k followers, and that is where I saw the problem firsthand. Content spreads fast, reposts pile up, and the original creator often disappears from the story. Music has infrastructure for attribution. Images and memes basically have none. When I started building, the idea was simply to help track where memes came from. It evolved into a broader system for registering content, verifying authorship using visual fingerprinting and metadata, and tracking attribution over time. A few things you can try: • Click any image to see its “birth certificate” showing earliest verified use • Reverse image search to find similar content • Register your own work in seconds • Built in DMCA tools to help protect original content This is an early launch and I am really curious what the community thinks.
