I built a meeting recorder app after forgetting one too many action items For the past year I kept leaving meetings with a head full of decisions and action items — and by the time I got back to my desk, half of it was gone. I tried taking notes, I tried voice memos, I tried asking colleagues to recap. Nothing really stuck. So I spent my evenings and weekends building MeetRec. It records your meetings and transcribes them automatically using Whisper. No manual notes, no trying to type while someone's talking. Just record, and the transcript is there when you need it. A few things that surprised me along the way: — Getting audio recording right on iOS is way harder than I expected. Background modes, interruptions, phone calls, other apps stealing the audio session. I probably rewrote that part three times. — The first download from someone I don't know felt genuinely surreal. I still have no idea how they found it. — 10 reviews in the first week, all positive. That gave me more motivation than anything else could have. I'm a solo developer, this is my first app on the App Store, and I'm still figuring out how to get it in front of the right people.
