The inspiration behind MediMinder came from a personal family problem. After my grandmother underwent cataract surgery, she was prescribed a complex schedule of different eye drops to take at specific times throughout the day. It quickly became incredibly confusing for her to remember which bottle to use for which alarm.
When I searched for a solution, I realized that while existing health apps had standard text reminders and alarms, none of them offered a persistent, full-screen visual alert showing a clear image of the exact medicine. That became the origin of MediMinder. I built it so anyone, especially elderly family members, can instantly see a large photo of their medication the moment the alarm rings.
To protect my family's sensitive medical data, I also committed to making the app function 100% offline with no accounts, no tracking, and zero ads. What started as a simple way to help my grandmother track her eye drops evolved into a comprehensive family health hub that manages medical reports, doctor appointments, and multiple user profiles.
