Accessing healthcare in Nigeria remains a significant challenge for many patients due to inefficiencies in the current system. Patients often experience long waiting times at healthcare facilities, sometimes spending several hours before seeing a healthcare professional, or in some cases, leaving without receiving care at all. In densely populated urban areas such as Lagos, the problem is further worsened by heavy traffic congestion and high transportation costs, making it both time-consuming and expensive for patients to physically visit healthcare providers. These barriers discourage timely medical consultations and can lead to delayed diagnoses and poorer health outcomes. Overall, the lack of an efficient system for discovering healthcare providers, managing appointments, and reducing wait times creates a frustrating and unreliable experience for patients seeking care. We built Medeet to solve this problem by giving Nigerians ability to get care wherever its needed.
