Hey PH š A meat proxy is a human who forwards questions to an AI and forwards the answers back - adding nothing but latency. You know one. They answer your Slack question with a ChatGPT answer to a different question. They review your PR with "looks good to me" and a paste. When the AI is down, so are they. For twenty years the correct response to "let me just ask you instead of googling" was lmgtfy.com. There was no equivalent for the AI era. Now there is. How it works: š„© Pick their offense ("pasting ChatGPT straight into the PR review", "forwarding my own question back to me, reworded"...), add their name, get a link. š„© They open it and get a page with their name in 72pt letters: "Dave, you've been referred." Plus the diagnosis, a 30-second self-test, and instructions for recovery (step one: read this sentence yourself). š„© The counter on the site is real ā every referral ticks it. It started at 54. I'd apologize to Dave, but he'd just ask the AI how to feel about it. Everything is free, there's no signup, and the field-guide illustrations are CC-BY if you need to end an argument in a Slack thread today. Refer your meat proxy:
