How did Astra change the scope or ambition of what you built?

Astra expanded the scope of what I thought was possible. Its strong visual understanding has been especially valuable for evaluating the interface, not just the code.
I’m now exploring whether Astra can autonomously improve MeasureLab’s UX—reviewing the interface visually, identifying usability and consistency issues, proposing improvements, implementing them, and then evaluating the result again.
The ambition has shifted from simply using AI to help build features to exploring whether AI can participate in an iterative UX improvement loop of its own.

MeasureLab started as a personal project with a simple idea: accurate measurement tools should be available to everyone, regardless of budget.
I’ve been developing it independently and releasing it as a completely free and open-source audio measurement and analysis platform. My goal is not to turn it into a commercial product, but to keep building a practical measurement environment that anyone—from hobbyists and students to engineers and researchers—can use, study, and improve.
There is still a lot I want to explore and build, and MeasureLab will continue to evolve.
If you try it, I’d genuinely appreciate your feedback—whether it’s a bug, an idea, something confusing in the interface, or a measurement feature you wish existed.
Accurate measurement, free for everyone.
Thank you for taking a look at MeasureLab.
