MCA providers quote a "factor rate" instead of an interest rate. It looks small. It isn't. A 1.35 factor rate over 6 months = ~70% APR. Over 12 months = ~35% APR. Same number, wildly different cost. This converts any factor rate to APR so you can compare MCA offers against bank loans or SBA loans. Shows: total repayment · total fee · equivalent APR · estimated daily payment Free. No signup. Really useful tool, wish I had this before signing my last MCA deal. One idea: add a side by side comparison mode where you can stack two offers against each other, basically input two factor rates and terms and see the total cost difference laid out clearly. Would make it way easier when you're negotiating and trying to figure out which one actually saves you money over the life of the loan.
@nevzatakal1e4q That's literally the next thing on the build list — a side-by-side comparison mode where you can input two or three offers (any mix of factor rates and term loans) and see total cost, APR, and daily payment all lined up. Glad to know it's actually needed. Will flag you when it's live.
love that you used a real 1.35 over 6 vs 12 months example right at the top. most fintech tools bury the actual gotcha in a tooltip, but showing ~70% APR vs ~35% APR next to the same factor rate hits the point immediately. clean way to teach while you build.
Would be great if you could add an amortization schedule view alongside the APR calculation, so you can actually see how each daily payment chips away at principal versus fees over the term. That would make it way easier to spot when an MCA is front-loaded on the payoff.
would be great if you could also show the effective APR including any origination fees or closing costs, since most MCAs stack those on top and it would give a way more honest comparison to a bank loan
