MCA providers quote a "factor rate" instead of an interest rate. It looks small. It isn't. A 1.35 factor rate over 6 months = ~70% APR. Over 12 months = ~35% APR. Same number, wildly different cost. This converts any factor rate to APR so you can compare MCA offers against bank loans or SBA loans. Shows: total repayment · total fee · equivalent APR · estimated daily payment Free. No signup. Hey PH — Jacob here, I built this.
I spent a few years as an MCA broker in the US. The most common conversation I had wasn't about which lender to choose, it was explaining what a factor rate actually costs in real money.
Business owners would come to me with 2 or 3 offers, all quoted in factor rates, trying to decide which was the better deal. The answer isn't obvious. A 1.3 factor rate over 4 months is a completely different deal than 1.3 over 10 months, but the number looks identical on paper.
Every time, I'd run the math by hand: convert to APR, calculate total cost, explain what happens if they repay early. That calculation shouldn't require a broker to explain it. So I built it as a free tool.
Full transparency: the site also helps match businesses to funding when they're ready. But the calculator is designed to show you the real cost before you sign, including when an MCA is a bad deal.
Three things that surprised business owners every time:
- Paying an MCA off early raises your effective APR, the fee is fixed at signing
- The same factor rate can be 35% or 140%+ APR depending on the term
- MCA providers don't quote APR because they're not legally required to
Happy to answer questions about how the math works or what to watch out for in MCA offers.

Really useful tool, wish I had this before signing my last MCA deal. One idea: add a side by side comparison mode where you can stack two offers against each other, basically input two factor rates and terms and see the total cost difference laid out clearly. Would make it way easier when you're negotiating and trying to figure out which one actually saves you money over the life of the loan.

@nevzatakal1e4q That's literally the next thing on the build list — a side-by-side comparison mode where you can input two or three offers (any mix of factor rates and term loans) and see total cost, APR, and daily payment all lined up. Glad to know it's actually needed. Will flag you when it's live.

Would be great if you could add an amortization schedule view alongside the APR calculation, so you can actually see how each daily payment chips away at principal versus fees over the term. That would make it way easier to spot when an MCA is front-loaded on the payoff.

@asiyeoncan73621 Good idea, though worth noting MCAs don't actually amortize — the fee is fixed at signing regardless of payment timing, so there's no principal vs fee split per payment the way a traditional loan has. What I could show is cumulative total paid over time vs remaining balance owed, which gets at the same intuition. Adding it to the list.

would be great if you could also show the effective APR including any origination fees or closing costs, since most MCAs stack those on top and it would give a way more honest comparison to a bank loan

@atakanhanedar Completely valid gap — origination fees, admin fees, and closing costs on MCAs can add 1-3% to the true cost and they're almost never disclosed upfront alongside the factor rate. Adding a fees field to the calculator is the right move. Will build it in.
