Hi Product Hunt!
I made MaxBars because my phone kept jumping between 5G and LTE, and on some days it slipped to an older network. Android does have a setting to choose the network type, but it's hidden in a testing menu that you open by dialing a code.
MaxBars makes it one tap:
5G + 4G, 4G only (LTE) or Auto, for each SIM
Quick Settings tile, home screen widget and shortcuts
Keep My Mode: tells you when your phone leaves your mode, and one tap puts it back
Signal finder with live dBm and beeps, and a speed test on Wi-Fi or mobile data
Wi-Fi tools: see what's on your Wi-Fi, a quick check-up, Wi-Fi QR codes
What it can't do: it can't add signal or give you 5G your plan doesn't have. It only picks which networks your phone may use. Switching uses an Accessibility service that works only inside that phone menu, and the app also shows you the manual taps. Some phone makers lock the menu; then MaxBars points you to your phone's own setting.
No account, no ads, no analytics. The core is free; MaxBars Pro adds automatic fixing, Game Mode, Data Guard and Wi-Fi Guard.
It's Android only for now. I'd love your feedback: did switching work on your phone model, and what should I add next?
