Math Copilot Number Line

Help kids learn math by directly manipulating a number line.

A "copilot" app for kids aged 3-8 who are just getting comfortable with numbers, counting and basic arithmetic. Rather than another lesson program, this is a copilot: a utility that they can have on hand when doing homework or anything else math-related.

Like many parents, I’ve spent more time recently helping out with kids’ schoolwork. This got me thinking about a new class of educational tools: secondary “Copilot” applications that support kids (and their parents and teachers) when they are doing homework, learning something new or reinforcing their understanding. Math Copilot Number Line is a first example of this, aimed at kids aged 3-8, just getting started with numbers and arithmetic. Number lines are a very common tool for early numeracy, but printed ones and other physical tools are static and necessarily limited by space, taking away the feeling of infinite exploration possible. Since kids tend to also find touch screen scrolling, pinching and zooming quite intuitive, I thought it was a great match for exploring the numbers from the very small to the very large! When my son runs into an arithmetic problem he’s not sure about, he’ll ask me to hand him my phone with this app open. Because I’m not a huge fan of other apps showing ads to kids, I decided to make this a paid, ad-free app. I'd love some feedback from the Product Hunt community though so I've made it free for the next day or so. Please let me know what you think and what else you’d be interested in seeing. I’m happy to extend the basic functionality if people are interested! If you don’t have kids the right age, but know others who do, please point them this way. I’d love to hear from them!
