Math Combat: Mental Math is a fast-paced arcade game that turns mental math into a beat-driven battle. Solve equations under pressure, chain combos, and level up your speed all set to a pounding EDM soundtrack. No boring drills, just pure math adrenaline. 🎧🧠
Most mental math apps feel like flashcards with a fresh coat of paint, it's technically useful, but nobody's excited to open them twice. I wanted to flip that: what if practicing math felt like playing an arcade game, not doing homework?
That's where Math Combat: Mental Math came from. Fast equations, combo chains, and a pounding EDM soundtrack. The goal was to make speed and pressure the fun part, not the stressful part.
My approach shifted a lot along the way. Early versions were closer to a standard quiz format, and playtesting made it clear that pacing and audio-visual feedback (not just "correct/incorrect") were what actually made people want to keep playing. So I ended up spending way more time than expected tuning the feel, timing windows, combo escalation, sound design, rather than piling on more content.
It's still early and I'm actively improving it, so I'd love to hear:
Does the difficulty/pacing feel right, or too intense?
What would you want to see next. Leaderboards? multiplayer duels? more tracks?
Thanks for checking it out it would mean a lot if you gave it a spin! 🎧🧠
