As the founder and CEO of Materia, I built this with a really simple goal:
make ecommerce better, and easier, for everyone.
I started in ecommerce years ago, and I’ve experienced all the pain points—slow themes, clunky builders, expensive agencies, and bloated features that get in the way instead of helping. Materia is the result of combining everything I learned, everything I wish I had, and a full year of development work.
We launched our first official version—Materia 1.0.0—in May 2025 after months of testing, refining, and building with a small but dedicated team. Every section, every layout, every feature was handcrafted. I genuinely appreciate everyone who’s been part of this so far, especially our dev team who went through every single line of code.
Right now, in July 2025, we’re still in the first official version—but big things are coming. By the end of this year, we’re expecting to release Materia 1.5.0, which will be a huge update with:
Multiple new templates
Different theme “levels” based on experience (beginner to advanced)
Easier customization options
More built-in features for serious growth
It’s going to be wild, honestly. The future looks bright over here.
We’re also currently expanding our internal team and commission-based partner programs. If you’re a marketing senior, strategist, or someone who wants to work closely with our team to grow Materia while earning up to 50% commission on theme sales—we’re opening spots right now.
Long-term, our vision goes beyond just themes. We’re planning to build a full drag-and-drop builder to give users even more flexibility, and eventually launch a marketplace where designers and developers can sell their own templates, sections, and starter packs powered by Materia’s engine.
