Mate is a free, privacy first, 100% offline finance and budget tracker for Android. Track expenses, manage budgets, monitor subscriptions and loans without accounts, ads, or cloud sync.
Fun fact: I literally cannot tell you how many users Mate has or what they spend money on, because I don't track any of that.
The only analytics I have is Play Store's public download count. That's it. Zero telemetry, zero crash reporting, zero event tracking in the app.
Privacy isn't a toggle in settings -> it's the architecture. There's no server to send data to even if I wanted to.

Hey Product Hunt! I'm the solo dev behind Mate, and I built it out of frustration. The problem: I got hit with forgotten subscription charges. When I looked for a simple expense tracker on Android, every app wanted my bank credentials, my email, cloud sync basically everything except to just work. The solution: An app that literally cannot access your data because it never leaves your device. What Mate does: - Track expenses & income with a clean keypad UI - Auto-detect transactions from bank SMS and notifications - Subscription tracking with auto-processing and swipe-to-pay - Credit card management with EMI tracking - Loan tracker with "Debt Watchdog" alerts you when you can pay off a loan - Weekly/monthly budgets with a visual burn rate ring - Home screen widgets (budget progress, quick-add, spending insights) - What-If simulator ("If I save $500/month, when do I hit $10,000?") - Biometric lock with configurable auto-lock - 48+ currencies, multiple wallets, Excel export What Mate doesn't do: - Collect your data - Require an account - Connect to your bank - Show ads - Cost money Design: Monospace-driven UI with Geist Mono + NDot 57 typography. Three themes (dark, light, grey). Inspired by Dime for iOS, rebuilt from scratch for Android. The trade-off: No cloud sync between devices. But that's the entire point. Would love your feedback I'm here all day.
