One thing that would help a lot is letting clients see a live estimate of their wait time or a rough position in line. Even just a "you're next" or "about 10 mins" notification would keep people from constantly checking in or wandering off, which happens constantly at busy events.
Finally a queue app made for event artists instead of generic restaurants. The facepainter workflow looks like it actually fits how these booths run at busy fairs.

Honestly pretty clever for facepainters at busy fairs, I like that customers can just hop on the app instead of standing around for an hour. The Instagram links me right to see how it works too.
