We pick between products all day and rarely know why we picked the one we did. Why the middle size costs almost the same as the large one. Why the produce is the first thing you see in a supermarket. Why a rental car company once bragged about being number two. Marketing Trivia Quiz is a three-choice quiz about how things really get sold — pricing, shelves, ads, loyalty. Every question is explained, so what you keep is the story, not the score. Five questions a round. Fully offline.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
I kept noticing that I could explain what I bought, but never why I bought it. Why the middle size costs almost the same as the large one. Why the produce is the first thing you see in a supermarket. Why a rental car company once bragged about being number two.
So I built a quiz about it.
Marketing Trivia Quiz is a three-choice quiz about the machinery behind how things get sold — pricing, shelves, ads, loyalty, the psychology of choosing. Every single question comes with an explanation, because the point isn't the score, it's walking away with something you can tell someone at dinner.
A round is five questions, framed as one campaign: brief, insight, idea, craft, launch. It fits in the time it takes to get a coffee.
One thing I want to be upfront about: marketing trivia is full of stories that are widely repeated and simply not true. The "7% of communication is words" one. Subliminal advertising. The jam study. I kept a running list of claims I refused to use as correct answers, and where a finding was later contested, the explanation tells you what happened next instead of pretending it's settled. Sources are company records, papers, and contemporary reporting wherever I could get them.
It's free, ad-supported, no IAP, works fully offline, and ships in 16 languages.
Android today, iOS soon. I'd love to hear which question surprised you most — and if you catch something that's wrong, tell me, I'll fix it.
