Hey Product Hunt! I'm Michael, co-founder of MarketFlux.
This started in 2017, when my co-founders and I were running an algorithmic futures trading desk. We weren't trying to build a media company, we were trying to make money trading, and the thing that kept costing us money wasn't bad strategy, it was bad information. By the time a headline showed up somewhere we could read it, sentiment had already moved.
So we started building our own pipeline: pulling financial news in real time, scoring sentiment, tagging tickers, classifying topics, mostly just for ourselves. That internal tool quietly became the actual product over the next few years, through a closed beta, then a public free version, and now a full platform with real-time news, deep filtering, and research tools.
The newest piece is something we didn't plan to build: an MCP API. We kept seeing our own users pasting our data into Claude and other AI tools by hand, so we figured we should just make that connection native. Now you can plug MarketFlux's live news and sentiment directly into Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, or Cline.
We're trading-desk people who became builders, not the other way around, so I'd genuinely love to hear from anyone here who's tried wiring financial data into an AI workflow: what's actually been useful, and what's missing? Happy to answer anything about how we built this
