Edit videos 4x faster! Marker lets you highlight key moments while filming, so you know exactly where to cut. Stop rewatching hours of footage. Create Markers that import into your video editing timeline from your iPhone or Apple Watch while shooting. Add notes to the markers to remind yourself or give your editor instructions. Simple to use, yet powerful. In worst cases I saved 1 hour of editing for 4 hours of footage, sometimes 2x faster or even 4x faster edits!

I built Marker for Creators because I kept running into the same painful problem as a videographer:
During a shoot, I already knew which moments I wanted in the final cut - but once I got into post, I had no idea where those moments were. I was scrubbing, rewatching, timestamping, searching … basically wasting time on something I had already mentally decided on during the shoot.
There was no simple way to mark “this is important” while filming, without breaking the flow.
So I built the smallest possible tool to fix that.
At first, it was just a personal utility: tap a marker on my phone → see the timestamps later. But then I showed an early version to a few agency owners, editors, and podcast teams - and they all had the same reaction:
“Why does this not exist already?”
That feedback changed the direction of the project. Instead of a quick personal tool, it became a workflow assistant for creators with long-form content: videographers, filmmakers, content teams, vloggers, and video-podcasters.
Throughout development, my main rule was:
Don’t add more - make it easier.
That’s why Marker works from the Lock Screen (Live Activities), the Apple Watch, and the iPhone - so creators can mark the moment without stopping the shoot.
Hearing from early testers that it saves ~1 hour of editing time for every 4 hours of footage told me I was on the right track. It’s been evolving based on real-world use: event videographers marking highlight moments, editors receiving cleaner instructions, vloggers tagging story beats during travel days.
My goal now is to keep it simple, fast, and genuinely helpful - and with the Product Hunt launch, I’m hoping to gather even more feedback to make this the best “mark while filming” tool out there.
Happy to answer any questions - and if you try it, I’d love to hear your experience.
