Marginal is a student-led initiative developing a free, AI-powered learning and assessment platform for Cambridge Economics students and teachers.
Our goal is to make high-quality Economics education more accessible by combining syllabus-specific AI assessment, structured learning resources and performance tracking into a single platform.
Currently focused on Cambridge International AS Level Economics (9708), Marginal offers AI-powered essay grading with examiner-style feedback, MCQ practice, a past-paper question bank, essay generation and a dedicated teacher portal for managing students and monitoring their progress. We are also developing more advanced assessment features to provide students with an interactive examination experience.
What distinguishes Marginal is its focus on subject-specific assessment rather than generic AI-generated responses. We have developed a structured Economics knowledge base and retrieval-based assessment system designed around Cambridge syllabus requirements and examination standards.
Having received encouraging feedback from both students and teachers, Marginal has grown to over 70 users. The platform is currently completely free, as we believe access to quality educational tools should not be determined by a student's financial circumstances.
We hope to expand beyond Economics and eventually make Marginal a broader educational platform, bringing affordable, high-quality AI-assisted learning and assessment to more students.
