Hi Product Hunt! I'm Théo, a trail runner from France.
Mapulse started as a joke. This July, at the Oisans trail in the French Alps, I reached the second-to-last aid station completely spent. A friend who had come to cheer us on was waiting there, and I told them it would be fun if they could see my heart rate while I was running.
Then there was the practical side. Three of us were racing: a friend on the 90 km, their sister on the 40 km, and me on the 28 km. Each of us was sending our position to each of our people, by text, WhatsApp, Find My... Not everyone had WhatsApp or an iPhone, and nobody could see all three runners in one place, which is exactly what our friend at the aid stations, or my friend's mom, needed.
Mapulse is one private link, opened in any browser, nothing to install. Every runner on the same map, each in their own color, with position, distance, pace, elevation gain and heart rate (Apple Watch, or any watch or strap that broadcasts heart rate over Bluetooth). It's built for the mountains: when the signal drops, data waits on the phone and is sent when it returns, so the track fills in without gaps, and the page never pretends a stale position is live.
Full circle: today, one of those friends, who is testing the Android version, shares their runs with me, heart rate included, from their COROS PACE Pro.
It's free, no ads, no subscription. iPhone only and in French for now; English and Android are next. I'd love your feedback, and to hear what would make you use it on race day.
