MapTap turns your travel photos into a growing collection on a world map. Drop a photo from anywhere you've been - MapTap pins it to your map and unlocks a collectible magnet for that place. As you collect, your Travel Score grows and badges stack up. It's less like a journal, more like a collection that builds itself. Built solo. 2,000+ travelers already collecting and sharing journeys. Android now, iOS coming soon.

Hi Product Hunt community!
I've always loved marking the places I've been to. There was something satisfying about seeing a map slowly fill up with cities, countries, islands, and places I had actually visited. But over time, I realized that a simple pin on a map wasn't enough. A photo could make that memory much more meaningful.
The idea for MapTap started after I used a travel app that stored everything locally on my phone. At some point, I lost all of my data - every place I had marked, every memory I had collected. That was the turning point. I decided to build my own travel map, one where the places I had visited and the memories connected to them would be safely kept together.
As MapTap grew, I started adding more ways to see your travels: the number of countries you've visited, how much of the world you've explored, and other travel statistics. But the real idea came when I realized that travel could also be a collection.
Instead of simply marking a place as visited, you could collect cities, countries, islands, states, and continents - with a photo and a magnet representing the places you've actually been. Suddenly, keeping track of your travels became more than a list of destinations. It became something you could collect, look back on, and keep adding to with every trip.
That is what MapTap is today: a personal travel map and collection of your memories. You add a photo, it becomes part of your map, and you unlock magnets for the places you've visited. Your friends can see their own maps and collections too.
This journal is where I'll share what we're building, why certain collections exist, and what's coming next. If you're already using MapTap, thank you for being here early.
