Hi Product Hunt — I built MapMC to make it easier to explore real-world places as Minecraft-style maps. You can search for a city or location and use MapMC as a free real-world Minecraft map and seed discovery resource. I’d love feedback from Minecraft builders, educators, and map creators on what places or workflows should be supported next.

Finally a tool that actually lets me walk around my neighborhood in blocky form. Pulled up my street and the house layouts were surprisingly accurate, super fun to explore.

@farid_miao Thanks! Glad your neighborhood came through accurately. Which location did you try?

Would love to see a slider for adjusting the build height limit before exporting, since real-world cities often have skyscrapers that get cut off in the default settings. Maybe pair it with a small preview that shows how tall the tallest building will be.

@bobmarley Thanks for the thoughtful suggestion. MapMC generates voxel worlds from OpenStreetMap building footprints and the height or level data available in the source map, so building heights aren’t manually adjustable during export.
A preview showing the detected building-height range, or highlighting locations where height data is incomplete, would be a more natural improvement for us. We’ll keep that in mind.

Pulled up my neighborhood and it was actually recognizable, which caught me off guard. Download was quick and the Bedrock version dropped straight into my realm without any fuss.

@ezra_frye Great to hear the Bedrock export worked smoothly. Which device or Minecraft version did you test it on?
