Why you should play Each year half million people become sick with malaria. Every minute a kid dies because of malaria. Malaria is caused by a parasite transmitted by the bites of mosquitoes. Malaria is curable. Diagnosis time can be up to 30 minutes. A microscopist has to count all the parasites in a blood sample. MalariaSpot players are virtual “malaria hunters” who could help diagnose malaria throughout the world.

More than one thousand million people play videogames. More than 70% of them do it from their mobiles. At the same time, thousands of people die because of diseases which weren’t diagnosed. What if we could connect these two realities?
