Oh, I am a bit late with my comment (not my fault! :)) and I want to say that this is HUGE! Always admired what guys behind this project were into, and what is much more important, I share the same mentality when approaching work ethics and enthusiasm towards making side projects. This is awesome and Make This Year looks like a very nice opportunity to learn so much new from great instructors sharing the same passion.

I just subscribed! Super excited to see what's coming. I've been doing side projects for the past 4 years (a social media tool, a crowdfunding platform, a membership management software, conferences, an incubator, a condom delivery business, a holographic tabletop display kickstarter campaign, an online course etc.)
And I love every minute of it.
Can't wait to learn more from your stellar team! (huge fan of unsplash and @meseali's SWLH publication)
Nice to see you guys expanding this to encouraging others to do it as well. We've done some side projects (two so far this year) and more to come. Some are just experiments, some trying to expand our presence in different areas. But each has its own set of tools and features to master so we can get better at what we want to do.
Looking forward to seeing how this works out.
Actually read an article a few weeks ago about side projects and the story of Unsplash. Definitely can see the benefit of using side projects as a potential marketing channel, assuming you have the resources to take it on
