For months, I did the same painful thing every evening while flat-hunting: open Rightmove, open OpenRent, open OnTheMarket, type the same filters into each one, only to find half the results already gone. As a software engineer, that kind of avoidable repetition bothered me more than it probably should — so I built the tool I actually wanted to exist. Maison Scanner searches all three UK portals at once, and — the part I spent the most actual engineering time on — cleans up the mess each portal returns. Property types alone had 35+ inconsistent variants across the three sites ("Terraced" vs "Terraced house" vs different casing of the same thing); I collapsed that into a handful of categories that actually make sense, with an honest "not specified" option wherever a portal just didn't provide the data, rather than silently hiding those listings. It's free, no account needed, and very much still early — I'm actively shipping based on real feedback, not a fixed roadmap.
