Mail Sweeper

I invented a new metaphor for email: the Dustpan During a random family budget review, we found an unexpected $2/month subscription for Google services. At first, we had trouble tracking down the expense but eventually found out that my wife had unknowingly subscribed for extra Gmail storage. In her inbox she had emails over 10 years old. Many of these were things like retail promotions or social media updates. She didn't want to spend time managing her email (I didn't either) but I committed to make something to help. The dustpan was my solution to this problem. It collects unimportant emails in your inbox based on your simple preference, and periodically sweeps them into the trash can. That's it, it's really that simple. The product is NOT a subscription. It is a one time small payment. For every email Mail Sweeper "sweeps" we calculate the storage space saved in your inbox and the estimated carbon footprint reduction. While difficult to quantify, it is estimated that an average email has a carbon cost of 0.3g. In just a few weeks since launch Mail Sweeper has helped our users delete ~500K emails, saved 35GB of storage space, and an estimated carbon savings of 16 kgCO2e.
