Why did I build this? As a mobile developer, one of the most repetitive and often frustrating tasks is testing push notifications. I found myself constantly juggling .p8 keys, .p12 certificates, service account files, and long device tokens. The existing tools were often command-line based, part of a large, expensive marketing suite, or just didn't have the simple, dedicated workflow I needed. I wanted to create a beautiful, native macOS app that lives on my dock—a tool that makes sending a test push as easy as a few clicks, without needing to write a single line of code or set up a backend. What’s new and unique about your launch compared to alternatives? While there are other push testing tools, MacOS Push Sender combines several key features into one free, open-source, and native desktop experience: Seamless Profile Management: This is the core feature. Instead of re-entering credentials, you can save different configurations for all your apps (iOS/Android, test/prod) as profiles. It even saves your last used tokens and payload for each profile, making repeated testing incredibly fast. Flexible iOS Auth: It supports both modern .p8 token-based authentication and legacy .p12 certificates with password protection. A True Desktop App: It’s not a web wrapper. It’s a clean, fast Electron app that provides a live activity log, native file pickers, and a polished user interface that feels at home on macOS. 100% Free & Open-Source: No subscriptions, no hidden fees. It's a tool built by a developer, for developers. The code is available on GitHub for anyone to see, use, or contribute to. What are you most proud of in this launch? Honestly, I'm most proud of the simplicity and the workflow. We've taken a process that used to be a chore and distilled it into an experience that feels intuitive and fast. Being able to switch between a client's production Android app and my personal test iOS app, have all the credentials and payloads load automatically, and send a test push in under 10 seconds is the exact workflow I dreamed of. I built this tool for myself initially, but I hope it can save other developers and QA testers countless hours and a lot of frustration. I would love to hear your feedback and answer any questions you have. You can download it for free directly from the GitHub releases! Thank you for your support!
