MacOptimizers is a privacy-first macOS toolbox built to help users remove leftovers, find duplicates, uninstall apps cleanly, organize files, run useful shell commands, and access practical file utilities in one place. Unlike many “cleaner” apps, it stays fully local, avoids fake alerts, and focuses on transparency, control, and real utility instead of vague performance claims.
I m curious to know what people really use on macOS.
Do you mostly rely on built-in tools like Finder and Activity Monitor, or do you use third-party apps for things like cleaning files, uninstalling apps, or organizing storage?
Hi everyone 👋
I’m Anthony, an independent developer from France.
I built MacOptimizers initially for myself because I was tired of switching between multiple apps just to clean leftovers, manage files or run simple maintenance tasks on macOS.
I’m fully aware that “optimizer/cleaner” tools have a bad reputation — and honestly, I understand why. That’s why I focused on making something transparent, local-only, and without any scare tactics or fake promises.
It’s more of a toolbox than a “one-click fix”. Some features may feel unnecessary — I’m still figuring out what people actually need.
I’d really love your feedback:
• What features do you actually find useful on macOS?
• What feels unnecessary or overkill?
• Would you prefer a more focused tool?
Thanks a lot for checking it out 🙏
