Hey Product Hunt community, I built M👀D Ritual because I'm passionate about creative tools, I have to stare at them all day and for a long time I've been dreaming of a system of tool more modularized, powerful, open and built for accelerating workflows. Seeing Stable Diffusion running locally was the closest thing I've seen to magic on a computer in my adult life. A few gigabytes model and a consumer GPU could fire out close to finished images every few seconds was as exciting as it was scary for someone who's career has been about creating images. Currently it feels like there are two options to use this tech, either sign up to yet another centralized service you'll be billed for the rest of your career or learn the woes of managing a local Python install and dealing with it when it breaks. I can imagine creation pipelines where this tech is running or accelerating every creative workflow in art direction and asset creation. This is a once in a lifetime chance for artists and designers to reset the industry and build and own their own tooling from the ground up. Imagine a world where Photoshop and After Effects had been free for anyone from day one. This is why I had to build a new kind of UI to interact with these models, interfaces built for the singularity where artist and AI collaborate and iterate together. Collaborating with AI via Ritual is almost like weaving an endless Tumblr feed of rapidly perfecting images, I may pull one out, do some touchups and then when I come back there are 50 more for me to check. When Kasparov was beaten by Deep Blue at chess he didn't just give up he instead invented 'Advanced Chess' a game where human and AI collaborate against human and AI. In a sense this is what I'm trying to build here, an interface for collaborating with AI on images in a pure flow state. In the spirit of self sovereignty, owning your own compute and tools I've also included basic multiplayer on the same Ritual timeline and the ability to pool compute resources so you could pool several Mac M1 machines and PCs together if you're a small team. Hope you give it a try, this is the first piece of a broader rethinking of what creative tools can be.
