Right now, Lumid understands and responds in English. But we know emotional expression isn’t limited to one language so multilingual support is definitely part of what we’re working toward.
I gave it a try and it honestly feels more like chatting with a real person than most AI bots I’ve encountered.

Yes, the facial emotion recognition feature is being designed to work seamlessly with standard webcams. Accessibility is a core priority for us, and we want to ensure that users can benefit from emotional insights without needing any high-end equipment. As always, privacy and consent will remain central to how this feature is introduced and used
Given that it processes emotional cues how do you handle privacy and consent especially when it comes to analyzing video or voice data?

Thank you for raising such an important question — privacy and consent are absolutely foundational to how we’re building Lumidai.
At this stage, Lumidai operates entirely through text-based interaction, without analyzing voice or video data. However, as we move into Phase 2 and Phase 3, we plan to introduce voice recognition and video therapy capabilities to deepen the emotional connection and therapeutic impact.
These features will be strictly opt-in, with clear consent flows and robust privacy protections in place. Even then, no user data — voice, video, or text — will ever be stored or used for training. Our commitment is to provide meaningful emotional support without ever compromising trust or user safety
