lumi blocks your doomscroll and makes sure you don't snooze through your alarm. at bedtime, lumi locks every distracting app on your phone: tiktok, instagram, games, until morning. its alarm won't stop until you prove you're actually awake: solve math problems. do pushups, jumping jacks, or squats. scan a barcode. no more doomscrolling into 2am. no more sleeping through your alarm.

What happens if I genuinely need to use one of the locked apps in an emergency, like calling someone late at night?
@lkerabanogfxgp your phone’s native calling and text messaging apps are never locked, so you can still contact someone in an emergency.
for any other locked app, you can enable up to three emergency unlocks per night in the alarm settings. each unlock gives you five minutes of access to the locked apps.
the barcode scan idea is genuinely clever, way more grounded than those shake-your-phone wake up tricks. feels like the team actually thought about real groggy mornings
@ekin1366265 yes, exactly! we built it for ourselves first, so we really thought about what actually works. and there are plenty of other challenges beyond barcode scanning too, like jumping jacks, squats, and push-ups.
the barcode scan trick is genius, actually had to get up and walk to the kitchen which fixed my snooze problem for good. wish it had a softer way to lock apps though, felt jarring the first night.
@senamelekavm8u thanks for the feedback on the app lock, what would have made the first night feel less jarring for you? Maybe a warning, a gradual/optional lock, or a short adjustment period?
how does it actually lock the apps though, like is it accessibility permissions or a vpn thing? wondering how easy it is to just swipe into airplane mode and bypass everything
Finally a lock screen that actually stopped my midnight TikTok spiral, and forcing myself to scan my coffee bag to shut the alarm off is annoyingly effective.
@fahri1539449 thanks for checking it out! 😄 yeah, it’s definitely a little annoying in the moment, but that’s what makes it so effective.
love how the alarm demands proof you're actually awake instead of letting you tap snooze half-asleep. the barcode scan is such a smart move, way more effective than just shaking the phone.
@fevziggx7 exactly! and there are even more challenges you can choose from, like push-ups, squats, or jumping jacks, so the alarm really makes sure you’re awake 😄
love that the alarm actually makes you work for it instead of just tapping snooze five times, the barcode scan idea is genuinely clever for getting you out of bed and into the kitchen.
@saniye0ike that’s exactly the idea! It gets you out of bed and moving before you can mindlessly hit snooze and fall back asleep 😄
