A few years ago,, we saw some crazy stats around "80% of internet traffic is video content" and "videos get 1200% more reach than text/images", so we thought to ourselves... if the future is video, how are people going to make videos? That's how it all began! The goal was always to help our users make awesome videos in minutes, and it's fantastic to hear that we're accomplishing this goal!

@jill_d1 It's great that you haven't had any issues at all! There has definitely been issues, but whenever they arise, we tend to work frantically to resolve them before it affects any of our users. Sounds like we've done a good job at that if you've had no issues since 2017!

Thank you for sticking with us through both the good times and the bad :) There were major technical challenges we had to overcome to get the product to where it is now... so thank you so much for not giving up on us when Lumen5 used to take hours to render videos back in the day! It's been great to work with Lumen5 for the last year, and watch the tool evolve. Feedback is incorporated on a regular basis, and it's been great to see advances with edit tools, highlighting, speed, positioning of text. A tremendous range of images and music to help craft fast,eye-catching social videos. (I *do* miss the icons that used to be available as a visual kicker!) Once you get past linking to content, it's easy to start thinking about using it for original ideas and a certain type of storytelling.

@dgchichester The icons will make a return, I promise! It was an experiment for an idea that wasn't executed quite the way we wanted. When they return, icons will be colorful and animated :) We felt the icons we had were too static and they also created the need for an entirely new infrastructure that was holding us back from moving the product forward, so we had to make the difficult decision of phasing it out, for now. We totally see that the blog-to-video feature is a bridge to help our users get started with video, but the real potential kicks in when you break free from re-purposing old content and start creating new original video content from the ground up! We've been working hard at shaping Lumen5 to better support the beauty of original storytelling :)
