Loop Smart Meter App

Hi to the Product Hunt Community from the whole team at Loop. With energy prices going crazy and further increases on the cards, it felt like a good time to share a free app we have developed that can help households get back some control of their energy bills. The Loop app links to smart meters, analyses energy data and shows easy ways to use less. On average, our users cut their energy use by 10%. With the current state of the energy market, using less energy is the only way for households to cut their energy bills. An average house could cut around £200 from their bill at current prices through simple behaviour changes and without compromising comfort or convenience. Obviously that amount increases further as energy costs increase in April and October. We are a purpose-led organisation and in common with our parent company, Low Carbon, we’re committed to making an impact on the climate emergency. Our aim is to accelerate the decarbonisation of UK households – improving energy efficiency is just the first step, but has the welcome benefit of saving money in the process. A virtuous circle. Helping our users to understand the benefits of solar power is the second step. One of the features in the app is a unique solar simulator that uses your energy data, details about your house, weather and irradiance data to show you the actual difference solar power could make to your monthly bills and your reliance on grid energy. With energy prices as they are, solar makes even more sense, with much-reduced payback periods and the added benefit of protecting against more price rises. We beta-launched last year, with work continuing on more features behind the scenes. We're a small team committed to making a Loop as good as it can be.
