Take a photo or screenshot of a suspicious text, email or pop-up and LookSteady tells you in plain English if it looks risky, what the warning signs are and what to do next. Your first check is free with no account. If you’re not sure, send it to a trusted family member with one tap, and set a family safe word for those “grandkid in trouble” calls. Screenshots stay private and are removed after 30 days. Guidance, not a guarantee.

Hi everyone, I’m Kevin and I built LookSteady because of a phone call from my mom.
A fake Windows pop-up had taken over her computer and was telling her to call a number for help. I work in cybersecurity and it still took me three hours on the phone to talk her through it, because she couldn’t show me what she was seeing and I couldn’t see her screen. In a perfect world she could have just taken a photo of the screen and gotten a plain-English answer, so I built that.
Here’s how it works. You snap a photo or screenshot of a text, email or pop-up, and LookSteady reads the sender, the wording, the links and any payment request, then tells you the risk, the warning signs and one safe next step. If you’re still not sure, you can send it to a trusted family member with one tap. There’s also a family safe word for those calls where someone pretends to be a grandkid in trouble.
It’s a second opinion, not a guarantee, and it says so on every result. Screenshots stay private to you and are removed after 30 days, and we never sell data.
Your first check is free and you don’t need an account. I’d love your honest feedback, especially if you help an older parent with this kind of thing. What would make it easier for them to use?
