LooksMutable

Discover if your NFTs are really forever

Diamonds are forever. Most NFTs are not. There's a hidden secret that make some of them likely to change their appearance, add ads or just stop existing at any moment, without prior notice and certainly without your permission, no matter how much you paid.

This is awesome! Congrats on the launch @rameerez. I've been looking for a similar time-saving tool. You need to put so much time into digging through contracts, inspecting where the images are hosted. Any plans to add more blockchains?
rameerez
@sauslav Thanks, Saul! What chains would you like it to support?
saul
@rameerez Solana/Avax support would be great.

This is great! Just wondering whether this also detects delegation to a seperate "rendering contract", which can be swapped, or proxy contracts? In theory that could also nuke my NFT.
rameerez
@nickforallnl Thanks, Nick! Do you have any sample NFT project in mind with rendering/proxy contracts so I can look into it and see if LooksMutable analyzes it well?

Wow, recently I bought 2 NFT’s. It is time to check them out 😅😅 Thanks for useful product. The security is a huge topic in NFT 🌍
rameerez
@alex_vasylenko Thanks Alex! Hope you bought immutable ones! 😅
Luis Alberto González
What an awesome idea. People should know this before buying them!
rameerez
@luis_al Thanks! That's the goal!

Moxie Marlinspike (of Signal) was writing about this earlier in the year. It's worth a read for the amusing demonstration of minting his own mutable NFT and marketing it. There were consequences. https://moxie.org/2022/01/07/web...

@jdvalentine Loved his experiement showing different URLs for different services. Thanks for sharing!
