Most AI writing tools send your creative soul to a cloud server. I wanted something different. LoneWriter is a distraction-free PWA that runs entirely in your browser. What makes it different? - Local RAG (Semantic Search): Uses local embeddings (all-MiniLM-L6-v2) to dynamically track your previous chapters. It automatically retrieves relevant context so the AI always knows what happened in the previous scene without you having to lift a finger. - MPC Compendium (Plot & Memory Control): This is the "brain" of your story world. A dedicated entity management system (characters, locations, objects) that injects critical data in a structured way. While the RAG searches by similarity, the MPC ensures that facts (like your protagonist being left-handed) remain immutable. - Total Privacy (Local-First): Your manuscripts belong to you and no one else. You choose: either use local models via Ollama/LM Studio for 100% privacy, or connect your own API keys if you prefer external power. - Lag-free PWA Core: An ultra-fast, minimalist PWA interface with dynamic themes, designed to make you forget you're using complex software so you can focus solely on writing.
