Right now, LogRule is completely free during beta, with no credit card required. There are no limits on the number of work logs you can create as a solo developer—we want people to build the habit of logging their work without worrying about restrictions.
As we continue to improve the product, we may introduce paid plans with advanced features for teams or power users, but our goal is to always keep a generous free experience for individual developers.

How does the logging actually work in practice, do I have to manually enter each task or can it pull updates from git commits and PRs automatically? Also wondering what happens to my data if the free tier ever changes down the road.

At the moment, logging is manual by design—it takes less than a minute to capture what you worked on while it's still fresh in your mind. We wanted to keep the experience simple and intentional rather than relying solely on automated activity.
That said, GitHub commits, pull requests, and integrations with tools like Jira and Linear are definitely on our roadmap. The goal is to combine automatic context with your own notes so your work history is both accurate and meaningful.
Regarding the free tier, any entries you create will always remain yours. If we introduce paid plans in the future, they'll focus on advanced features rather than taking away access to your existing data. We want developers to feel confident investing in their work history.
Love how focused this is on daily logging rather than trying to be another bloated project management tool. The no-signup friction and developer-first framing feel like it was built by people who actually had to justify their impact during reviews.

There are already plenty of great project management tools, so we didn't want to build another one. We wanted to create a simple place where developers can quickly capture what they accomplished and have it ready for standups, one-on-ones, performance reviews, and even résumé updates.

Love how the color palette is just clean blues on white, nothing flashy pulling attention away from the actual logging flow. The "no credit card required" right up top also feels like it was written by someone who's actually been burned by surprise trials before.

And yes, the "No credit card required" message was very intentional. We've all signed up for products that quietly start a trial, and we wanted to make it clear from the start that anyone can explore LogRule without that concern.
