Type a few letters and see every place a file, folder, web page or open tab lives: your disk, USB and network drives, cloud folders and every browser. It asks before it looks, never connects to the internet, and lets you verify that live.

Hi Product Hunt
I built LocatorZero because I kept losing files across my laptop, a backup drive and three browsers, and every tool that could find them wanted to index my data or send it somewhere.
LocatorZero does one thing well: you type part of a name, it shows where that thing lives. Your disk, USB and network drives, cloud folders, every browser's history and your open tabs, as a list or as a map.
New in 0.2: Clean up. Pick a folder or drive and it finds files stored more than once, plus your biggest files, in seconds (about 8 s for 178,000 files on my machine). You see every copy on a map, tick the extras, and free up space. And because deleting is serious:
⢠Nothing moves until you confirm, in a second window that lists every file.
⢠One copy of every file always stays.
⢠Each copy is checked byte for byte first, then goes to the Recycle Bin or Trash, never deleted outright.
What makes it different:
⢠Nothing leaves your computer. The app is blocked from the internet, and the Verify button runs that check live.
⢠It keeps no copy. It uses the search index your system already has. Delete a file and it's gone from LocatorZero too.
⢠It asks first. Every drive or folder gets a consent prompt before it's read.
⢠Source available. Read the code yourself: github.com/joyfulmake/locatorzero-source
Try it in your browser with demo files, Clean up included, no install: locatorzero.pages.dev. The desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux is free for 90 days, then $3/month, $25/year or $35 once.
I'd love to hear where it doesn't find something you expected, or what Clean up should find next (similar photos and leftover installers are on the roadmap).
If you want the description on the launch page to mention Clean up too, here's a version under Product Hunt's 260-character limit:
Type a few letters and see every place a file, folder, web page or open tab lives, across disk, drives, cloud folders and browsers. New: Clean up finds duplicates and frees space safely. Offline, and it asks before it looks.
