I built Local Background Remover because I wanted a fast, private way to clean up product photos without uploading them to a cloud tool. It started as a simple Mac app for background removal, but while working with coding agents like Claude Code and OpenCode, I realized it was even more useful as part of automated workflows. So I added a CLI too, which makes it easy to batch process images locally from scripts, terminals, or agent-driven workflows. The goal is simple: fast background removal on your own Mac, with no upload-first workflow, no subscription, and a setup that works both for non-technical users and power users.
