Hey Product Hunt π I built Ollama Copilot β a VSCode extension for AI coding using local LLMs via Ollama. After burning $20+ on a single task with GitHub Copilot/Claude, I explored a local-first approach. β‘ Refactor, debug, explain code π No API, no limits, full privacy Still early, but surprisingly usable for real workflows. Would love your feedback!

Hey everyone π
This started from a real pain β I ran an AI coding agent for ~30 minutes and ended up spending $20+ in tokens.
That made me question how sustainable API-based workflows are, especially for iterative tasks like debugging and refactoring.
So I explored a simple idea:
π Can we get a Copilot-like experience fully local?
With Ollama and recent open models, the answer is: partially yes.
Thatβs how Ollama Copilot was born β to bring local AI coding directly into VSCode with no API, no limits, and full control.
Still early, but already useful for everyday tasks.
Would love to hear:
π Would you switch to a local-first AI workflow?
