What inspired me to build this?
I've been a Sudoku enthusiast for years, and like many players, I eventually wanted something more challenging. Every variant felt like the same puzzle with minor tweaks. I asked myself: what if the puzzle itself wasn't static? What if it evolved while you played?
The problem I wanted to solve:
Traditional Sudoku rewards patience and methodical thinking, but it's purely logical. I wanted to create something that challenged both your logic AND your spatial memory simultaneously, a puzzle that literally moves beneath your fingertips.
How the approach evolved:
The initial concept was simple: make rows shift periodically. But during development, I realized the key was in the timing and visual feedback. I added glowing warnings before shifts, smooth animations for number transitions, and carefully calibrated the timing so it's challenging but (maybe) not frustrating. That's a warm warning.
The breakthrough came when I stopped thinking of it as "Sudoku with obstacles" and started treating it as a dance between player strategy and grid movement. You're not fighting the shifts, you're learning to work with them.
