I m trying to better understand how people think about VPN setup flows.
A lot of VPN services push users into proprietary apps, while some technical users still prefer standard clients like OpenVPN or native L2TP/IPsec setup.
For people who have used VPN tools before:
- Do you prefer importing a standard .ovpn file, or using a provider-specific app?
Hi Product Hunt, I’m Mohammad, maker of Lisar Connect.
Lisar Connect is built around a simple idea: a VPN service should not force users into a proprietary app.
With Lisar, users can create VPN connection profiles and connect using standard clients such as OpenVPN and compatible L2TP/IPsec setup.
What you can try today:
Create an account
Choose a plan
Create a connection profile
Download an OpenVPN .ovpn file
Import it into OpenVPN Connect using Upload File
Review dashboard, session, routing, and connection history details
This is an early public version, so feedback is very useful.
I’m especially interested in feedback on:
setup clarity
OpenVPN import experience
profile creation flow
dashboard usability
routing/location clarity
anything confusing in onboarding
Thanks for checking it out.
