Hey everyone!
I've been trying to make the process of creating tutorials a little easier for myself, so I ended up building a little native Mac app called Lil Floaty Cam!
One of my goals was to simplify my recording and editing workflow so I could just do a single screen capture with my camera already composited on top, instead of having to deal with multiple recordings in post.
I also realized that when I'm working on client projects and need to quickly show how something works, I'll often use something like Loom. But really, the main feature I use is just having my camera floating over my screen. So I figured, why not make a lightweight app that does exactly that?
Lil Floaty Cam removes your webcam background in real time and lets you float yourself over any app. No green screen, no extra compositing, and no need to change how you normally record your screen.
The app also includes free lifetime updates, with no subscription or recurring fees.
I originally made this to improve my own workflow, but I figured it could be really useful for anyone making tutorials, recording demos, teaching, or just wanting to share their screen in a more personal way.
